"You're a very hardworking young boy," he just said.
"I have to," Lawrence just said.
The man eyed him for a moment and spoke. "By the way I'm Eric," he told Lawrence. And Lawrence told him his name. "We don't normally allow vendors in our subdivision but since you have proven me your honesty, I'll let you go inside our subdivision and sell ice cream, there are many young children there who would want to buy from you."
"Really, sir...  thanks," gratefully Lawrence uttered. "I've wanted to go to that subdivision but the guard refused entry to me."
"Really, he's just doing his job, I think," he told Lawrence. "This is my calling card take this. Wait I'll just sign and write an instruction to our guard so he would let you in. I'm the subdivision by the way."
"Thank you so much," Lawrence replied looking up to him after he took his calling card.
"Thank you once again for your honesty young boy," the man told Lawrence and headed back to where he was going.
After the man had left, happily Lawrence boarded his mobile ice cream cart and pedaled. He headed straight to the subdivision he had wanted to sell ice cream. And when he got to the guard house he immediately showed the guard the calling card with instruction to him. The guard took it from him and read. After reading he smiled at him.
"Oh, so you know our subdivision president then," he just said looking at him.
